Gratitude.

Posted on

After I signed up for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and the initial excitement began to fade, I felt a wave of panic as I realized that I just promised to raise $1,800.  Ummm, that is kind of a lot of money.  I was fully prepared to pay a large chunk of it myself, thinking there was no way I could strong arm that much money from people.
As of today (well, last night at 9:44 pm…), these are my current stats:

I am $500 OVER my goal.  How did I get here?  Because my friends, family and co-workers are the most generous, kindhearted and supportive people ever, that’s how.  I asked for support and they gave above and beyond what I could have ever imagined.
Our fundraiser alone raised almost $1,000.

I don’t even know what to say.  I am blessed beyond words to have all of you in my life.  Thank you seems almost trite and can’t begin to explain the gratitude overflowing from my heart.  You have given me more than money, you have given me more than your time and energy.

You have given me back a part of myself that I thought was lost.

You have reminded me that I am loved.

You have shown me that there is still beauty in a sometimes dark and troubled world.

So thank you, thank you, thank you.  A million times over.
